Non-Profit Rates for rental of the auditorium for meetings, events, and programs.
$40 per hour during the museum’s regular working hours.
*$55 per hour outside of the museum’s regular working hours.
$250 flat rate per day during regular working hours.
Use of Additional Rooms
$200 flat rate per additional room (Children’s Room, Galleries, or Lawn if available) and $20 per hour for additional staff as needed.
Auditorium Rental Includes the Following
Use of the auditorium, heating kitchen, tables and chairs, multimedia system (projector, sound system, screen).
Food and Decorations
The host is responsible for obtaining food or catering. Cooking cannot be done on museum premises. Glitter, live plants, and adding holes in the auditorium walls are prohibited. Open flames are prohibited. No food or drink is allowed outside of the auditorium.
Caterer
Caterers must be licensed with the City of Danville and the State of Virginia, and they must be insured. Copies of the license and insurance documents must be submitted no later than 2 days prior to the event. Failure to do so will result in the event cancellation.
ABC License
The host is responsible for obtaining an ABC license for events serving alcohol. A copy must be submitted no later than 2 days prior to the event. Failure to do so will result in the event cancellation.
Museum Staff Duties
Museum staff will set up tables, chairs, and multimedia equipment.
If promotional materials are given beforehand, museum staff will market the program or event to museum contacts and social media sites.
