12th Annual Art on the Lawn

Enjoy great art, first rate blues music, art activities for kids, and good food and beverages - all on the beautiful lawn of the Museum.

The Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History presents the 12th Annual Art on the Lawn, an outdoor exhibit to be held Saturday, May 3, 2008 on the grounds of the historic Sutherlin Mansion. This juried art show will feature some of the region’s finest artists and craftspersons whose works will be for sale. Mediums displayed include painting, printmaking, stained glass, pottery, jewelry, beadwork, photography, and mixed media.

This year's judge is Bob Rankin.

In addition to original artwork, Logie Meachum, brilliant regional musician/performing artist who's established a following for his outstanding performances at the Museum's Storytelling festival, will be appearing. He will be playing (and singing) blues guitar from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Mike and Christie Strange, along with Stuart Jennings, local favorites in the Danville music scene will be performing from 3:00 - 4:00 pm.

Art activities for children this year include a huge, 9-foot canvas mural for children (of all ages) to paint on.

Bill Wilmoth will provide food for sale including hot dogs, hamburgers, funnel cakes, nachos, snow cones, and more. Beer and soft drinks will also be available for purchase.
